Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert live at Green Gables, a farmhouse on Canada' s Prince Edward Island. In June 1905, they arrange to adopt an orphan boy to help on the farm. The orphanage mistakenly sends Anne Shirley instead.
They finally agree to keep her and she changes their lives forever.

Hiram Otis, the American ambassador, buys
Canterville chase, the country estate of Lord Canterville, and moves to England
with his family. People believe Sir Simon de Canterville- the Canterville
ghost- who killed there his wife in 1575, haunts the house, but the Otises, who
are modern Americans, don´t believe in ghosts and they aren´t convinced.
The ghost tries to scare the family many
times, but the twins try to frighten him too.
The ghost tells Virginia Otis -the
Otis´daughter- about the prophecy on the library window. It says a young girl
will help the Canterville ghost. Virginia is that girl and agrees to help the
ghost. Finally, there´s a funeral for Sir Simon and he´s at peace.
